"I coded RetroBlast in Visual Basic 6 with a
custom DirectX 2D game engine that I developed called The DXGame Engine. Total
development time was probably all together 3 months off and on.
A little known fact is, alot of peeps think I set
out to clone Geometry Wars.
Well the truth is, I never played Geometry Wars
until Retroblast was finsihed. It's amazing how similar some of the graphic styles are.
Retroblast was almost released commercially. I
was commissioned to write an enhanced version that was going to be marketed by a
fitting software company who's name shall not be named. But at the last second
they tried to throw me a curve and basically wanted me to sell my soul. uh...no
thanks. ;)
It's been a long time since I released a freeware
game. My last games were on the Atari ST. If you're an ST fan, you probably have
seen some of my games. ;)
I hope you enjoy the game, I think it's a blast
to play and I play it probably several times a month to wind down from daily
stress. :) lol..
What Am I Doing Now?
I'm currently working with Blitzmax where I've
developed an enhanced 2D game design environment which I simply call "MGE".
Which stands for "Munsie Game Engine".
I'm working on several games and quite honestly,
you ain't see nuttin yet. ;)
